Pavilion in Warren, Vermont
As a mostly pro-bono project this building speaks to our hearts and souls. In coordination with the library director and treasurer of Warren, the help of a Vermont Community on Housing and Development Grant and local donors we donated all of our time to this beautiful gathering space in the hopes of reviving 3rd spaces for our community. The idea that one should be able to gather in conversation, for a meal, a game, a lesson or simply to sit and watch and listen without expense is dear to our hearts. Life happens where we gather. We wanted to put our skills to work for this community. To give cover in the rain, inspiration to young minds as they gaze on the beautiful artistry of the roof structure, joy to young and old alike gathered around music, food or fun. Made from 90% locally sourced and milled materials this building represents what we love best, LOCAL LOCAL LOCAL, and SUSTAINABLE. White oak posts and teak flooring and benches offer excellent resistance to decay and pests. Stainless steel railings, made in house, and blind fasteners throughout offer longevity and durability. This entire project was designed and built by our master timber framer, Taylor and a select few to assist. Please, if you are in the area, stop in, sit down and feel this building.
